Prom Help Pops Up At The Upper Canada Mall
Unless you are a professional stylist, putting together your prom attire can be a challenge. Fortunately, the Upper Canada Mall in Newmarket has found a way to make the process easier.
It’s easy to get overwhelmed with questions like – what shoes will match my dress? What neckline is best for my body type? What type(s) of jewellery should I wear? Should I opt for silver or gold?
The Prom Guide is a great resource for finding answers to many of your prom questions but sometimes, you may need to inquire from an expert.
Personal stylists are expensive. The sales ladies at the dress store will just try and sell you the most expensive thing there. Also, as much as you love her, sometimes, your mother doesn’t understand anything about fashion. You need someone who knows what they are talking about and aren’t just trying to sell you something. This is how The Prom Shop emerged, according to Lisa Cosentini, the marketing director of the Upper Canada Mall.
As soon as you stumble across The Prom Shop, you can’t help but notice it. The whole store was decked out in numerous pink decorations, racks of stunning dresses, and a beautiful flower wall.
By mixing together stores from the mall and the community, the goal was to create “a really girly, fresh, and fun experience here at Upper Canada,” said Cosentini.
The opening night of the prom shop was exclusively for VIPs. This list was made up of 30 contest winners and their BFFs. The perks they received were snacks provided by Market & Co., a beautiful photo booth, gift bags filled with fashion goodies, and a nail bar where they could each get free manicures.
But what was the best part of the night according to the girls who attended the event? Spending some quality time with their friends. Even girls who already had their dresses like Katelyn Littlejohns and Charlotte Maung said they had a great time at the event. “It is a great to have some time to spend with friends, having a good time – it’s just getting close to one of those last times that we are all going to be together,” said Littlejohns.
