The Prom Guide,  Travel

Why You Must Head To Clifton Hill For Post Prom

Do you want to go away for post prom but don’t have enough money to travel across borders or fly to a tropical island? Looking for a quick destination to celebrate with friends? Then, Clifton Hill in Niagara Falls is the answer! Filled with countless activities and flashing lights, this spot can pretty much be compared to the Las Vegas strip. A trip to Niagara Falls definitely won’t break the bank for post prom and would make many memorable memories with friends!

Planning

The drive from Toronto to Niagara Falls is generally about an hour. If you don’t want to drive, public transportation is available to get to Niagara Falls from any city in the GTA depending on the season. Be sure to check with bus or train routes such as the GO Train! For accommodations, the price of hotels in Niagara Falls vary depending on where they are located. Most hotels that overlook the Falls start at $90 a night depending on the day of travel. Other hotels in Niagara Falls range around $70-$110 a night.

Activities

Clifton Hill offers a wide variety of activities all season long for all ages! Clifton Hill has a number of activities such as arcade, mazes, mini golf, go karting, a wax museum, as well as a Fudge Factory where you can create your own fudge! The spot also boasts of having a variety of famous restaurants and eateries. My personal favourite is Boston Pizza, which is located in the middle of Clifton Hill right next to the SkyWheel. It’s a popular restaurant so there is usually a wait. Upon waiting, you may consider stopping by the Great Canadian Midway, an entertainment center that is connected to the restaurant and includes arcade games, simulated rides, and even a bowling alley!

Niagara Falls

What’s a Niagara Falls trip without a glimpse of the Falls? Head to the bottom of Clifton Hill to witness its grand beauty. For daytime activities, you may consider Maid of the Mist, a ferry ride that brings you right by the Falls. If you are extra adventurous, there is the MistRider , which allows you to zipline over the falls! A great aspect of visiting Niagara Falls and Clifton Hill is that a lot of the attractions and activities are all walking distance. Nothing is too far from each other so it’s a great way to make the most out of your mini getaway!

Fun pass

Clifton Hill offers a Fun Pass that definitely shouldn’t be ignored! For one low price of $29.95, it includes six attractions, which are the Niagara SkyWheel, Zombie Attack, Wild West Coaster, Movieland Wax Museum, Ghost Blasters Dark Ride, and you get to choose either Dinosaur Adventure Golf or Wizard’s Golf. If you desire to experience most of the attractions in a short amount of time, the Fun Pass would be a terrific purchase. However, if you end up getting sidetracked, the Fun Pass is still valid up to a year after purchase (but also entitled to one use per attraction).
