What To Wear To The Prom After Party
Everyone knows what to wear to prom – fancy dresses, dashing suits, sparkly bling, nice shoes – but what do you wear to the prom after party that takes place once all the dancing and dining is over? If you’re attending an after party, then you probably won’t want to stay in your prom clothes. Of course, this doesn’t mean that you need to stress about planning a second outfit for the night. Here are some suggestions to get you through party number two!
Outdoor bonfire
One of the most common types of after parties is a big bonfire hosted at somebody’s house. This event is usually super chill and requires only an outfit that you look cute and comfortable in. We recommend jeans or sweat pants, a plaid flannel shirt or old tee, and an over-sized sweater that you can pack in a bag in case it gets a little chilly. Sneakers, sandals, ponytails, and ball caps are all welcome here.
Friends-only sleepover
If you’d rather spend the rest of the night talking with your closest friends about your dates and all the drama that went down at prom – or even if you simply prefer to hang out with a smaller group – then you need a sleepover party that’s only for the squad. Obviously pajamas are a must in this case. Try to pick something that you can move around in just in case a pillow fight breaks out or somebody starts an impromptu dance party when their jam comes on.
A fun game night
Here’s another option that’s meant to be more of an intimate get-together with some good friends. Game night is one of the best prom after party ideas out there. If it’s a classic board games night, a casual top and loose sweats or track pants will do the trick. You don’t want to wear anything too tight in case twister makes its way to the floor. Video games are also a cool option! For this, we suggest your favourite nerdy graphic tee and jeans, which are appropriate whether you’re playing Mario Kart or Call of Duty.
A night-in by yourself
A party-for-one is a party that’s fun. If you need to take some time to unwind from the excitement, go home and have a relaxing bubble bath, read a good book, or watch your favourite movie. You can literally wear whatever you want in this case because the only person that will see you is you. A robe, old pjs, or a stretched-out shirt paired with your favourite pants with that hole in an unfortunate spot are all options in the comfort of your own home. There’s nothing wrong with partying-up (or partying-down) by yourself.
